Re: If we do become one of the big clubs, how do you think our fans will be?
I'm sure it completely depends on the individual, as chilled out middle aged blokes like myself won't change a single bit and cocky is one thing I've never been and wouldn't be comfortable being.

All I ever want is for our fans to get behind the team, which is why it's sometimes frustrating reading the match threads, as the negative postings if we ever have the nerve to not play well or go a goal down are a little embarrassing.

Always considered our fans to be a better breed to all others, though the younger influx and the premier league has turned many into the wrong sort of monster, craving and believing success should be a given.

Let's just support the team and owners as well as we can, as only a fool would be blind enough to see we really could potentially be onto something special at the moment and unlike the mistakes of 1986 where we failed to strengthen and build on it, we need to embrace it and give the cocky buggers amongst us the chance to right get in our rivals faces because of success on the pitch :o)

You can already see the change in Leicester fans and they will be expecting some more of the same next season.Probably fifty fifty with us as some will expect us to go for it next season full pelt and if we are lucky with injuries who knows what could happen.

Re: If we do become one of the big clubs, how do you think our fans will be?
Another good post, Chim.

I still can't make my mind up about the move and what it could bring.
Part of me wants to stay where we are, another part of me thinks we could be on the verge of something big.

I don't want us to turn in to Chelsea fans, can't sell out for a Champions League group game. Or Arsenal fans, bitching about making the Champions League for 20 straight years.

I want us to win every game we play, ofcourse I do, but on the other hand I quite like the fact we can be a bit shit sometimes.

Us fans in their 40's, 50's and 60's now had terracing, that makes a big difference to the 'camaraderie' amongst the fans I reckon. The younger lot won't have that.

In answe to the original question - fuck knows.

Like most clubs ... some decent fans, some cunts. We do have our fair share of cunts as well

Re: If we do become one of the big clubs, how do you think our fans will be?
Fuck it, I think the new breed are kind of lucky because our fans, mostly in our forties, fifties and even sixties can be horribly intimidating to other teams. We've a fair few who don't take shit even though we're too old to really be like it.

When someone I don't know digs us out they only ever do it once. In return I don't give it large to my spurs pals when they fuck up their title bid- even though their loss at Upton Park was critical and Potchettino seriously underestimated us and changed his winning team to save them for other games. We know how it feels to get that stab in the heart when you wake up the next day and realise your cup run is over.

I think if we attract a load of slightly posher kids they'll come to see that going away, feeling a bit scared and a load of us more...er...'earthy' characters get involved will be like attending with your favourite uncles. They support West Ham and should be welcomed with open arms. They will be part of our religious cult. It might make better humans of them. West Ham formed a massive part of my education when I was growing up and I hope it's the same for them.

I was in a queue for tickets at Upton Park a little while ago and there were four kids in front of me talking animatedly about the team for Saturday. What was special was that it was two Asian kids and two black kids. I have to say it felt nice that they were obviously local and didn't take the easy way out and support Arsenal, Liverpool or God forbid spurs.

We'll be okay. The East End kid will still smash anyone from North London. Whatever colour he is.

I don't think we'd ever become like Manu fans. Our supporters have been loyal through thick & thin for decades & any success has been a bonus not a given
Of course, success brings new transient supporters who probably would expect & demand success in every game but they'd soon fcuk off once we start losing!

City fans were great when they were shit and they've just become shit now that they're 'big'.... can only assume that they are underwhelmed by the experience, like their team they show absolutely no passion and don't bother turning up for games.

Would like to see us carry on with G&S for as long as possible as billionaire foreign owners would help suck the soul out of the club for me.

It wouldn’t take much for other clubs fans to really hate us. Even when we are a bit flippant after having a damn good season like this one they’re quick to try & shoot us down, from my personal experience.

We would be unbearable idiots for 10 years before we become rather embarrassed and hark on about the great old days when we may not have been rich or won trophy's but we were all Happy.
Always remember Money cant buy you love, just success.
You cannot be the same club you were, when you become a big club with foreign money etc you lose your soul quite a bit and it is a different place with a different feel.
But the youngsters will not know any difference they are the future.
